smf_api.php and smf_setlogincookie

When I execute smf_setlogincookie with an EXISTENT username, the answer is already true although the password entered is wrong. In this case, i'm not logged in the forum. But why the return is true

That functions sets the cookie, it doesn't check the password.  Look at the other functions in the file.
