SMF 2.x API. Where can I find it?

Will it be released?

I'm still using smf 1.1 for this reason...
I want to pass to 2.x version but i need the new api support to login/register users from my site to the forum.

Someone know something about it?

There is no API file for SMF 2.x. But devs saying that there will be a release before SMF 2.0 Final.

Someone know if there's some kind of road map?

Or when 2.0 final will be released? Couse I really enjoy using SMF 1.1 but I need to upgrade to something better like 2.0, but I need this 2 feature ( login/register )

is there another way to get forum data besides this and the rss feed? something that syndicates authors and other data besides just the post and content?
