Topics in a static order, is it possible?

As the title says, I am looking for a way to have topics in a static order in a specific board, without affecting other boards. Normally, when someone would reply to a topic, that topic will move all the way to the top. But now, I am looking for something that doesn't affect the order of the topic when someone replies to that topic.

Is this possible?

Thanks in advance.

Not sure if making a topic sticky does that... Worth a try?

There's a mod that enables the ordering of sticky topics....

There is this mod about sticky topics, as they are ordered in a chronological order by default. This mod allows you to set the order of the sticky topics, though and works fine on 2.0.8 ;) http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=3425 (cross-posted by Chalky)

It's so powerful that on this post and even in the two PMs you sent me,you still answered my question very quickly and you're apologizing for the delay. You're the #1 support I've probably ever encountered man, so much respect for that. Thank you, and get better soon.

I'll keep this in my siggy for a while just to remind me that someone appreciated what I did while others didn't.

Awesome. Thanks for the mod link. :D

I'm wondering if the OP means all topics though.

You're welcome for the link ;) but the forum nature gives the ability to *bump* stuff and make it in an upper position... I don't know if it can be done without a major rewriting of the code itself...

Incidentally it does depend on if we're talking about a whole board or part of a board and if it's a whole board, in what order the topics should be (including if there's going to be more than a set listing)

Or indeed if it's really an informational thing in which case a knowledge base or FAQ mod might actually be more appropriate.

If you're talking about having new posts on a thread not bump that thread to the top, check out this mod- http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=382

You can set it any way you want on specific boards on your forum, while other boards will still have the default settings.

Steve

I'm thinking that's exactly what the OP wants and I have a use for it as well so thanks from me. :D

Yes, this is exactly what I have been looking for. Thanks! ;)

EDIT: Installing the mod gives me errors

EDIT2: Alternatively,
