Did you test this mod with Quick Reply form? Limit doesn't work.

It's really nice but I'd prefer to have option to choose Limit to Post or Topic.

My idea like this:

Limit Topic:
+ Set 0 to no limit or number allow per as below option.
+ Set period of frequently to day/week/month.

Limit Post:
+ Set 0 to no limit or number allow per as below option.
+ Set period of frequently to day/week/month.

If Advertisers go to our forum, he/she is allow to create example only one topic per day (or per week or per month) but still can create a volume of posts (limit as well) by reply to other author or his/her self topic).

Hope you can do this ;)

This mod wasn't designed to operate that way - the clue is in the title (Global  :)).  It's main purpose is to allow guests (or other groups members) to "try out" a forum (or boards) by limiting the number of posts they can make.

Would it be difficult to extend this mod to limit application to a per board basis?  For example, if I wanted the ability to apply this mod to a specific board (or boards) so as to limit the "newbie" traffic.  Like if you are a member of group X, you are limited to 5 posts per day on this given board, but any other board on the site, have at it.  Basically, I just want a little more granular control than a global application.

Anything can be done given enough time  ;)  The raw data isn't available from SMF to do posts per day/ board.  It might be possible to have a different post limit for each board though.

Apart from a day limit, you can already exclude boards.  In theory, the post limit should probably be an extension of the board/group permission system but that would involve a complete re-write as that wasn't the design intention of the mod.

Well, I do need a mod so I can limit the number of posts that a given user can make per day. I tried the Global Post Limit mod but it doesn't seem to work :( I created a new group "Limited posts per day". I selected all other groups so the limit does not apply to them and assigned one member to the "limited posts per day group". I set the limit to 1 post per day, I logged in as the member with restricted number of posts per day and had no problem making 2 posts :( Can anyone tell me what I did wrong?
Thanks!

Not sure what the problem is as the mod works OK (the post check is a simple one-liner).  It doesn't limit posts per day but limits total posts (global) that a group can make - ever!

I can check it out is you give me temporary admin access to your site?

Aha! I see! Well then that was a misunderstanding on my part. I certainly do not want to limit total posts that a group can make.. Thanks for taking the time to explain!
