I moved to SMF from phpBB.  I used phpBB for many years (old school) but this time around i decided to go with SMF, and so far i am happy with it.

Now about my forum.  I used to have 4 different forums going at one time, one for each project i was working on.  This time i decided to consolidate all support into one forum.

The categories here are not completed but this is how it looks so far, i also added a private category for premium paid members only (that one is invisible).  All of my major projects are under one forum now.  More projects will be added.

I do accept constructive suggestions!  :)

I would recommend adding the missing apostrophe to the name of the forum :).

I would suggest closely proofreading the product site for proper capitalization, spelling and grammar. I lost count of how many i's is on the product site.

Another question in regards to the WebStore Software. Since its closed source I am curious if you have had a security audit performed on the software and what its results were?
PM at your own risk, some I answer, if they are interesting, some I ignore.

Hi, so you are saying the header text should read Durangodaves Web Services Forum !  like that?

Thanks for the tips, my eyes are not as good as they used to be so i will go over it again, appreciate that.

Regarding the security audit, not yet. But that is the plan when i get back to it.  I am rewriting it because i decided (just before i had to set it aside) to remove bootstrap completely and go back to native normal HTML with no helpers. So once that project gets rewritten then i have to finish it as well.

That is also the plan with the socboxcore dot com software.  I have already been shopping around for a good audit company.  In the meantime i will continue to work on it as much as i can and get ready for audit when the time comes.  I am pretty sure it will do well, i expect some hits as with every script, i would be a fool to think i thought of every possible crack on my own.  But i do expect it to do well.

The socboxcore (SBC) project is the one i plan to have user plugins for but i am not yet at that point to create actual hooks, i know what i want and i am setting up the environment to be able to do that, but i have not created any hooks yet.  One reason is because i am considering making that project open source.  I am still not sure i want to do that but there are several benefits to doing so. I figure i will noodle over the idea while i am finishing it and then make up my mind when the time comes.

If you are inquisitive about why i dropped one project for another, blame oxwall.  When the owner basically left thousands of users high and dry by abandoning the free version without warning, without so much as an email to any of us, i made a promise to those members that i would build something from scratch that would be awesome for them.  That is why i dropped one project for SBC project.

PS yes i use i's on this forum because its ok to do so.  But i will check my forum text to fix anything i feel needs fixing...  :)

Instead of hooks I would suggest going event driven and more importantly. Use a PSR-11 container that supports service delegation. It will save you a lot of time.

That change would not involve adding an apostrophe.

Thanks.... would you happen to know any good doc writers (including yourself) that need some extra work on the side :)    I am trying to do the docs for my projects by myself but its totally overwhelming and takes me away from coding.  Programmers don't always make good doc writers anyway lol

socboxcore dot com/sbcdocs/dochome.php

It would not be until mid 2024 that i would need someone.  There is sooo much to do there.

I have a full-time job, so I cannot help you, but I'm sure that you will be able to find someone who may be able to assist you :).  You can always start a topic in this board if you are looking to hire somebody.
