Post topics and replies to the board only after they have been approved

i' ve set "Post new topics, but hide until approved" in "Permissions for group 'Regular Members' in profile 'Default'.", but if i log into my forum as a "regular member" i can post normally. smf don't make a hidden post until approvation.

Do you have the option for them to post without approval too?

Enable the core feature for post moderation
Go to admin > permissions > post moderation > set it to "?" for your members, that should do it .

another question, if you can!

i try the mod you seggest. it' ok, but now the member group can't create a post in all the forum.
is possible to set free some category and for the other request the approval?

Yeah, change the profile to a custom one, and recreate those steps. These docs should help you: Boards and Permissions.
