Remove the stars below user names

Just wondering if it is possible to remove the stars and also how would I get rid of the "rank" IE newbie...etc.  I find those a nuisance.

you can easily remove the stars, by not having any in the membergroups in the admin panel "Manage Membergroups"

hmmm never tried to get rid of the newbie status... but perhaps thats done in a simliar way

i usually get rid of the post based groups by just deleting all of them except the "newbie" group and calling the "newbie" group " "

that or set the minimum posts for the next levels above newbie to something astronomical

Stars gone but the I tryed to get rid of the Admin and the Admin stars and got a lot of boxes with red X's.  Anyone know about that?

Make sure the number of stars is set to 0.

I want to remove stars, yet keep the rank names since I made some custom ones. Is that possible?

Just edit the membergroups and do as [Unknown] stated above.  List the number of images as 0.
