Here's a test case:

Only happens with certain characters, including (but not necessarily limited to) slash, parentheses, and brackets, and braces. I've duplicated it in both IE6 and Opera 7. Mozilla is not affected.

Beta 1 includes a way to fix this.

That doesn't seem to work in this particular case.

It's not a big deal anyway, since the probability of such a situation occurring is extremely low. I'm just curious what is causing it, since from all I can tell the characters should wrap since they're separated by spaces.

This site currently uses SMF 1.0 Alpha, not the Beta

It happens with Beta 1 as well. That's where I first discovered it.

Let me phrase it better:

Beta 1 includes an optional setting, which defaults to off, which fixes this.  In Mozilla it will show spaces in long sentences (if for some reason they don't end up getting broken...), but in Opera and MSIE it will not.

I did not like this kludgey solution, which is the main reason I set it to off by default.

This is slightly interesting.

It's purely a browser bug and is in no way caused by SMF or anything else. I tried it on a basic, single div HTML page and got the same result. Strangely enough, Opera is only affected by closing parentheses, brackets, and braces, while IE is affected by both opening and closing characters.

Weird.

How about a way to insert tabs in HTML without putting a ton of   tags in there?
