I getting this error: "Unable to find the settings for vBulletin 3.7. Please double check the path and try again."

I'm sure the paths are okay. can't i convert vb 4 to smf 2?

Oldiesmann

As vBulletin 4.x is still fairly new, we don't yet have a converter specifically for it. Are the settings for vB4 stored in a different location than they are in 3.x?

./includes/config.php

it didn't change with vb 4.0

Make sure you're entering the correct path to the vBulletin settings.

Antes

You need to write correct path ( not config.php path )

eg :
SMF Path
C:\AppServ\www\smf2
vBulletin Path
C:\AppServ\www\vbulletin4

like this , but converter has some errors about attachments others "%100 success"
if you want to delete all attachment its a good way for you :D

Not : tested on my localhost didnt saw any problem

A Touch of Evil

Path to SMF*: /home/xyz/public_html/smf

*=default value if it's right the vbulletin value is

/home/fmgrap/public_html/forum

am i right? smf is installed to smf folder. vbulletin installed to forum folder.

converter is the simplest item i have ever seen on SMF xD ,
look @ ss you'll see what you need to do ( i'm suggest forums not smf or etc... )
dont forget if you got attachments on your forum you 'll get error !

not : in non-Turkish Sections non allowed to speak their languages , if you need Turkish support , open topic in Turkish Section

paths are right i'm sure. there is a screenshot

edit: it's working now. reuploaded convert files and its working.

and now, i get this error:

This conversion has paused to avoid overloading your server, and hence not working properly.
Don't worry though, nothing's wrong - simply click the continue button below to start the converter from where it left off

it's not the convert's problem i know. thanks.

That's not an error, it should do exactly what it said: pause a bit, then restart the process.
Note that there's a known issue with attachments in vbulletin 4.0, they will most likely not be converted properly. I intend to look into the issue this week as soon as possible.

Please make sure you restart the conversion fully, by typing your_smf_address/convert.php in the address bar, no parameters, anything.

Is SMF installed in the "forums" subfolder, or is it in "smf"? Do you have convert.php and the sql file in the same folder? From where are you running it?
Also, can you please verify the version of SMF you are using, AND the version of the convert.php you are using, are the same? For instance, for SMF 2.0 RC3, you may want to look into this site's Downloads > Converters, for the package from vbulletin 3.7 to SMF 2.0 RC3.
