Moving posts between topics

But? How about moving topics form an inactive board to an active one?

I think that JBLAZE had a mod to copy one topic to another board, I was wondering if there was
something similar to transfer topics from one forum to another...

I have an archive of a forum in another location I'd like to transfer some posts from, yeah.
I mean it's possible, but it will be kind of more effort than it's worth, I'm sure.

Ah, there's no mod for that, and it's doubtful one will ever be written because of the complexity of doing it. (I got confused because I assumed you meant a board rather than a forum)

Yeah. I wasn't clear.  What got me to wondering was because of the mod -- I think I remember this correctly -- where JBlaze could copy one topic from one board to another. So, I was wondering if I could copy one topic from one Forum to
another Forum -- the dead forum to the live forum.

Kind of complex, I know. And I know that SMF doesn't "date" posts, but rather numbers them, so it's really rather
numerical rather than sequential by date posted. It would be a mess.

But a guy can hope...

It could be arranged to merge them but that's why I doubt it'd be a mod. It's hard enough to do manually.

I second this request. In my opinion, the split & merge topics feature should not be considered a solution to this problem.

has there already been an answer to this issue? Moving posts like moving topics ist one base feature I really need... I´ve been looking around and found neither a mod nor a satisfying answer...

I think this should be included in the core of SMF. Its a pain to move posts and get them ordered as you want it to be.

This is a large issue on large forums where lots of things happen every minute.

PLEASE consider making this a core feature soon.

No, it hasn't, still requires splitting it off and merging it with the other topic.
