QuoteJust 1 thing - Selecting the last snow design does not save. It resets to the first option.

Change this to:
Just 1 thing - Selecting ANY snow design option does not save. It resets to the first option every time - There is only 1 type of snow whatever option is saved.

Including cleaning out smf cache, browser cache etc - Firefox8 and chrome.

You are welcome ... it works!

But the snow stopped  ;D  after ftp the file.
Refresh didn't work but disabling saving and enabling again - it worked.

Thanks for the effort - nice people like you take the time to make this stuff.

I do not think you can, because the library does not use images as an option.

I cant get it to work on the x mas theme!  Not sure what I am doing wrong

^HeRaCLeS^

The mod does not touch nearly template files, so it should work on all themes.

Url where you have installed

It works on x-mas theme for me look here gamezfix.co.uk

Have you enabled it in Admin/Configuration/ADK-Snow Effect? it is not enabled by default you have to tick the box.
If you want quizzes to add to the new SMF2.1 quiz mod go here . There are also walkthroughs in the forum to explain how to install them and other tips.

Had it switched on for an hour but had to turn this off on my forum (www.i30ownersclub.com/forum) due to complaints like:

QuoteIs it just circumstantial - or is the snow theme causing a problem when using the forum. This is 'snow' joke - but scrolling up and down pages seems to be jumpy and typing text rather jerky and not smooth. The cursor seems to stick for a fraction of a second before obeying the keyboard or mouse.

I don't have a problem on other web sites or another forum I frequent and it has only happened here since it started snowing.

Windows 7 64 bit - Internet Explorer 9

EDit

I just tried using Firefox - and that seems to be OK. I much prefer IE but a dreaded incompatibility code error seems to have struck again

QuoteI am using the same Browser and Operating System as you.. It must take a bit of processing that snow.

I am getting a  bit of jerkiness and hesitation..

Might be a problem on an older basic system??

On XP and IE7 it seems fine, as with Firefox and Chrome on XP and Win7. Just seems to be IE9  :o

^HeRaCLeS^

I really could not say anything about it, i do not use IE9.
And I have no knowledge if the js library conflicts with it.

Would have to look at the official website of the library if say something about it. http://schillmania.com/

The "official" IE9-ready version also misbehaves under IE9.

So, I placed some code to swerve the snow for IE9 users and everyone seems happy now. Those IE9 users who want to see the snow can use Compatibility View to emulate IE7/8 and for them the browser shows the snow effect properly, with no excessive CPU usage, no jittering, no lag and no random horizontal scroll bars appearing :)

Thanks for the mod  8)

Looks great. tried it on my testsite.  Just wish there was a easy way to turn it off on certain themes.  Is it possible to add a check box to current theme, so you can turn it off / on. ?

^HeRaCLeS^

No work with files templates, so it can not be configured for different themes.
