Some recent comments on this site spurred me to take a look at old and new themes I made for SMF - and to actually count them(!) since I rarely given it any thought of many there actually are. After a quick countdown it seemed to be well over a hundred...phew. Well, i guess the fire was burning hotter in the 1.1 days, since most of them are from that period, but still its alot when I add in all the variations when working with them.

Anyways, its way too many to post thumbs on this site, so I 've added them to my personal site if you are interested.(I added just a few of my past favs on this topic)

OMG! I thought you'd ported TecHead to SMF v2, there, Bloc! :P

He won't admit it, Chalky. But, Bloc's always been an SMF theme GOD. No question. :)

I've always been eternally grateful that Helios got ported, coz that, for me, has always been THE SMF theme. :)

Yes I remember most all of them, from the time I started with SMF V 1.+, Never seen anyone that can compare to all these, not just on SMF forums but other CMS/ Blogs and what not, Bloc is the reason I started using SMF, his theme His contributions to SMF and TP, What can I say, your the Man, I am very happy to see you are still at what you love doing (art) !

Kind regards,
Maxx

In my eyes, you are one of the best designers. I like the colourmix in your themes, the design, and speed.
So, go on with your work, and make some nice themes hahaha 8)

to expand on what Arantor said, Dilber is released under a closed license, it is up to Harzem to update it.

As the others were saying, I can't just adapt it without permission. And, as I mentioned in PM to you, I would probably feel the need to change stuff lol, so it would not be DilberMC rather fast..for example I am not too fond of the use of gradients in windowbgs, and the headers needs work. Nice theme, and popular no doubt, but for me its far from perfect..(which no theme is, but one can only follow ones own sense of whats good or not, if you want to be original and stay true to *why* you are doing it)

What seems to be most useful and popular is the themes ability to make the SMF more versatile in way of how it can be used:
Not speaking for anyone just observations:

Theme creators like Bloc, Logo off and Now more and more DZ are adding features to make the SMF adapt to, the Social Net usability, like : Blogs Galleries, about/terms/contact us pages and or adding the additional block/s need to set you SMF form apart from the regular or should I say topical forum. The ability to change color schemes, Bloc has been doing for may years now. even fro SMF 1 +, and most theme can be customized to fit a given scheme of the colors. ( kind of doing away with the need of so many mods and mod updates to mess with)!

And by the way if you looking for a large variety of SMF themes and schemes in the nature looks Please Do not forget Crip. ( nothing holding him down) more and more everyday ( he's working on)!

The Other thing that is being done I the Fork like Wedge. and this will take too long to try and explain, but you'll find, it's as far as I can tell becoming a CMS, package, and has it own way of doing things.

Now getting to the SMF themes, I find them very friendly in as far as modifying or customizing them to fit most and scheme, I myself Just love play with them and how they work , but many are already working hard on the looks and feel of the SMF theme, even the Alpha version( or at least I am) on the 2.1

This only thew way I see things I could be wrong!

Maxx

I have already praised Bloc many times in past and yes, I agree because whenever I see his theme, I find that there is always something new incorporated,  sometimes subtle and sometimes prominent... even I love experimenting, almost all theme I have submitted on SMF are result of my experiments, this is  because when you are doing it for free, you are not bounded by any boundaries, just let your ideas and imagination fly.

So looking forward from Bloc to show us new ideas and themes :)

Nobody asked you or the TP team to support them, max. That was by their own request and wishes.

When can you adapt modendark?
By "adapting" you mean update it for SMF 2.0.4? And which one - Moderndark32, ModernDark48 or ModernDark96 ?...
