Yakuza, may I suggest that you ask in the support boards for your country.  There you will get assistance in your native language .

It's not that nobody wants to help you, it's that no one seems to understand WHAT you want help with.

Do you need someone to make a backup of your database for you? :)

I have a database from someone
And I want to make a backup of it

Thanks for help

Who is the someone? In what format did they give it to you?

Just as important... WHERE is this database?

If it's on your hard disk, you can simply copy it somewhere else, to back it up.

As Mashby said, we'd like nothing better than to be able to help you out, with this. But, we really can't understand what it is that you're trying to do.

Also, as Runic said, if you post in the board for your own language, they might be able to understand you better than we can. :)

The end ...

What can I do with this?

You cannot download or install new packages because the Packages directory or one of the files in it are not writable!

The package manager is NOT for restoring backups, of course it won't work properly (even if permissions were set properly, which they are not)

kat

If it's not for that, did you make sure that ALL of the files and directories, inside Packages, were writeable, too? From that screenshot, it seems not, as "includi sottocartelle" isn't checked.

I had another host forum
After I made backup and moved to another host

And then I have this problem

what to do?

mashby

Can you import your database using your new host's cpanel/phpMyAdmin?
Wondering if this board would be a more suitable location to ask (in Italian)?

Ah... New host...

Two things to ask your new host about.

1-Do you have full CHOWN ownership of the files on your site? (I suspect not).

2-Do they have "mod_security" enabled. If "Yes", ask them to disable it, because it's very bad. It blocks silly things.

Arantor

Why are people trying to fix the package manager to *do a database restoration*?

kat

I'm not sure that that's what he's doing, mate. He said "The end", to that (And double-underlined it), and went on to the "Not writeable" thing, I'd thought. I could be wrong, coz I'm finding this whole thing a little confusing, to be honest.
