Topics suddenly disappear while removing spams

Hello, I am new to this forum. Please inform me if there's an existing topic already but I can't seem to find a similar post so I just posted a new one.

The problem is I am removing spams from a thread but when I finished removing all of them, the normal topics are gone too so the thread is empty. The thing is, the thread still shows the no. of posts but the topics are set to 0. I didn't delete them and I enabled the recycle post to see if I'm just accidentally deleting them but they can't be found in the spam/trash. The SMF version is 2.0.7.

Hi Kindred, at first, I'm deleting the posts by clicking the posts then I use the "Remove Topic" button and then I also tried the "Remove" button since there is only one message in that topic. The only mod that was installed was the Akismet Spam Blocking.  What do you mean by URL? The URL of the forum I'm talking about?

If you are deleting the topic, then yes... All messages in the topic will be deleted.

I guess I don't understand your issue.

Akismet does strange things to the topic and post counts. It's also the source of the sporadic "-1 unapproved messages" issue we had a while ago.

Ah...m and hence why I asked for mods... Even though I didn't know that.


Akismet is basically a waste of space from what I have heard anyway.

@Kindred, I am deleting topics, yes, but those topics are spams(and they only have 1 message). My problem was "other normal topics" also disappears for some reason whenever I remove those spam topics. Sorry if it sounds confusing.

Hi Flavio, I already have a good question in the registration(the one that is not answerable by numbers) but thank you for the advice. I will check that mod and that topic as well.

You're welcome but mine was just a tip. Arantor (or well the symbol guy but I call him Arantor as this was his name, his historical name) knows much better than me so if he has something to add or to correct between the two of us listen to him for sure.

Oh well of course Kindred knows better as well huh! They have like 100 times my post number so you know there is just a "slight" difference in experience xD I wanted to point it out better as I realized I was like ecluding Kindred totally and it was stupid and not polite. I am sorry to Kindred for saying this later than the other message I don't want to edit and hide it, my bad, never meant to do that though. I apologize, also because Kindred is the most important user here as global smf manager so even twice my bad.

personally, I have 8 questions (require 2) and I use bad behavior+httpBL and Stop Spammer.
I get ZERO spam registrations.
