rss .xml display question

i am able to view my forums rss feed with both Carp and a news reader.

I am trying to get the rss feed to display the post author

but both of them only display the title and the message body.

does any one know what i can do to display the author?

i have tried playing with the news.php sourcefile and changed some of the tags
and the .xml file now looks a little more rss friendly to me. but i don't think it makes much of a differance.
