Dose none of the SMF team have a clue why this is all the sudden just happening for no apparent reason? Like stated nothing in error logs for forum or server either by the way.

Possible solution: I had the "merge double post" mod, and it started doing that to me, when I uninstalled and deleted the mod, it stopped. So there is the answer. Not too hard to figure out.

Glad that worked for you. I do not have nor ever had that mod.

We have several members who are plagued by it and others who rarely if ever have the problem, one of my co-admins has theory on this problem, this is his reply on our board to a member who is planning a move to an area with Telewest Cable available:

Less cacheing issues at the isp... I'm totally convinced that's what's causing the data-collisions that trigger your little cyber-ailment because it's so selective... people who do suffer do so incessantly, people who don't never normally see it at all, so it cannot be 'directly' a server issue, it has to be something to do with the path.

I'm with Telewest Blueyonder (cable), when the forums upgraded I used to get that issue every post, thankfully it has not been an issue of late. 

I got so pissed off with it that I became a lurker.

Likewise... they themselves got so pissed with issues caused by the local transparent caches they used they've ditched pretty well all of them now... bandwidth was expensive when they were set up, so they were worth it, it's a lot cheaper now so they've decided they're more trouble than they're worth.

It started being a big problem with our upgrade to 1.1RC2, some issues with RC2 only affect admins, this issue is much more important, it affects our members.

Some SMF input in this thread would be greatly appreciated.

The weird part is seems to be very random, not browser associated, and at least for me not triggering any errors in the error log. So it is what I would call more a weirdness glitch than a bug! But very annoying!

To get around it I just click "Back" then "Refresh" and then post. But why it doesnt work the first time around is a mystery...
