Problem with new bridge and ezine

Hi there,

I've searched and searched but I'm going to have to post here, because I cannot find the answer to my question.

  • I've recently upgraded to Joomla 1.0.10 - after a few teething problems all is fine.
Recently also patched my version of SMF so I've got the most up-to-date version of SMF 1.1 RC2
tonight I upgraded to the most recent version of Orstio's bridge, 1.1.5

I am also running ezine 2.1 full, which I had to adapt (according to the instructions from the person who originally wrote it) to work with the new Joomla. That is now also fine.

My website is at www.twistedear.com [nofollow]. Everything seems fine, but the bridge cannot find images and display them properly via ezine.

If you look on this page [nofollow] you'll see, in the mod_smf_recent_topics (Wolverine's version) at the bottom, that the "new" images next to recent topics are properly coded. The path is: http://www.twistedear.com/forum/Themes/twisted/images/english/new.gif [nofollow]

That's because it's a Joomla page, and it has found the image correctly. But on the home page, the path to the same image is: http://www.twistedear.com/english/new.gif [nofollow]

This is an image I uploaded myself as a rather crude fix - creating the /english/ folder in the root specifically to display that image. There was a similar problem displaying the "logout" button on the ezine page too (it was fine on every other page), so I had to hard-code it.

It seems to me that the bridge isn't telling ezine where to find any of the images that are stored within SMF (ezine has no problems finding other images, and actually it all worked OK before I upgraded everything as well). I don't really want to have to do crude hacks, so I was hoping that someone could explain what I need to do to get this working.

Is it to do with the path to SMF that I put in the bridge configuration?  Currently I have (changed some of the names for security reasons but you get the idea, I hope):

/home/myUserID/myWebspaceAccount/www.twistedear.com/public_html/forum/

Any advice would be appreciated as I'm stumped, and don't really like crude hacks because I then forget what I've done when it comes to upgrades.

Thanks in advance... :)

Your problem is most likely rooted in trying to mix and match parts of the joomlahacks integration with the bridge from here.

Thanks, but I don't think it's that. I also had the exact same problem with the SMF login from the most recent bridge. The login uses an image (a logout button), which was correctly found on all of the Joomla pages, but not the front page (which is created by ezine and not Joomla). This was before I installed the Joomlahacks recent topics mod and I did find a workaround but would really like to get to the bottom of the problem. Not sure what it can be, because the logout button displayed fine on Joomla pages, but not on the ezine front page.

Would appreciate any more input? THanks.

Don't think you can get it anymore but if you check out http://designforjoomla.com/ [nofollow] you can find out about the latest version.
