In Firefox the login module on our home page works flawlessly but IE it's out of whack.

When logged out the text is shifted to the right and when you're logged in the avatar is almost completely out of the module box and the text shifts even further to the right.

Never mind

I shut off SEF to fix a gallery embed problem and it fixed this login module as well.

Well never mind again.  Some of my IE visitors are still saying that the login module on the home page is misaligned.  I can't recreate the problem in IE or Firefox but it sounds like the avatars are bleeding into the main content.

I set up a test account and will share the login info through PM.

It looks like the problem involves avatars that are more than 125 pixels wide.  We've always had the max set at 150.

I guessing that this isn't possible but I'm going to ask anyway.  Is there a way to resize the avatar in the login mod or make it so it doesn't show up at all?

You can edit the file mod_smf_login.php in your modules folder.

Excellent!!! I killed the avatars.

But now the text IE is still messed up.  It's in a centered position but is pushed off to the left of the module.  Like always it's find in Firefox.  I searched the css code but can't find a setting for this?

Remove this from line 80:

position: relative;

That seems to have taken care of it.

Thanks for all of your help.

This has got to be one of the strangest issues I've ever seen.

It comes and goes and I can't figure out what triggers it.  It seems as if if believes the left edge of the module is about a centimeter off of the page in IE put remains perfect in Firefox.  I have played with a handful of alignment and margin settings in the php file and it doesn't seem to fix it.
