As far as I can tell, most if not all Mods shown on the SMF Mod Site also have an associated topic on the forum in the child board Mods and Packages.

Could I suggest that all mods on the mod site include a link to the related topic in Mods and Packages? At the moment, some do and some don't. Why do this? It just makes it easier for people and every little bit helps.

They all do. It's called "Comments on this mod".

Make it bigger or something.  Apparently a lot of people cant figure out that that link is where you go for support (mod support that is).  I dont know how many people I have seen that post questions in the mod rating thing, that seems to have disappeared.

Yeah, you're right - both of you. I should have looked further. But an overt reference to the support thread does make sense - as Daniel has done on his latest FlashChat integration mod. The extra instructions on how to amend the mod for themes is also useful.

I think "Comment on this mod" should be renamed because it seems just like if you click you can leave a comment, which may be confused with review.

Something like "Support Topic" or "Discussion Topic" might make it easier for some to find it.

Howcome the comments don't appear on the mod pages anymore? It used to show you users comments but I have not seen it on there in the past few weeks. Just wondering.

We removed the feature of Mod (and theme) ratings at the last site update because it wasn't very useful and was often being abused. You can of course still make comments in the mod's topic! :)

That is to bad that people had to abuse it because I found it quite helpful seeing other peoples comments. I will just check the mods thread. Thanks for the reply.

That's exactly why it was removed - People weren't using it for the correct reasons. Even though it said "This is not for support" on it, people kept using it for support questions...

It stops all the people PM'ing me asking support questions ;)

I copied this idea from JayBachatero, as he does it for most of his mods :)
