Struggling with Theme- Should i change? is it easy?

Hi all,


I am using the Oxygen TP theme for my forum and i have done modifications to it (logo,icons etc)
I seem to come across more issues then anything else when i want to add a mod etc.  Nothing works correctly with the theme and i cant come accross somone that is willing to help with explaination and help me through altering it manually etc.

Is it worth it changing to default theme and then just altering it manually (colour,logo,icons etc)

Would all the mods work then? Or would i still have the same issues?

Most mods only install for the default theme. So alerting the Default theme to met you needs may work and may not work depending on how heavily you are customizing your theme.

Manual Installation of Mods

Be warned that altering the default theme too significantly might cause mods to not apply cleanly. You might have to manually install these portions of the mod if they will not work.

manual installation.... I have read through this multiple times but if the author of the mod doesnt compile a decent installation doc i cant do much.
I have done everything needed by manually installing the mod and the code mentioned doesnt excist in the theme im using.  Does that mean that code falls off? according to the author it still applies.  So where do i put it then?

I will be upgrading within the next couple of days so if that fixes it ill post back otherwise any help would be appriciated since the author has dropped me now.
