Guests permission problem

I`ve just switched over to SMF 1.1.1 from Invision. I`ve checked over the member groups, permissions and pretty sure everything is correct.

To my horror, the two forums that I allow guests to view, they can also start and reply to topics. Yet, in guests permissions they do not have posting or topic starting permissions.

I`m finding the permissions and member groups a little more confusing than Invision, but I thought I was getting somewhere until this happened!!!

Did I miss something?

Have you made changes to 'Permissions' > Guests > modify and checked the correct boxes?

What you are probably looking for is enabling advanced permissions by board. That will give you more freedom to manage access to the boards and to modify what guests can and can't do with SMF. It isn't like IPB really so there is a bit of a learning curve with it.
