My forum is growing and receiving lots of posts from a growing number of members.
They are complaining that only 10 new posts shows when they click the
"View the 10 most recent posts on the forum"

Is there a way to change it to 20 or more?
I'm using SMF 1.0.8.

I noticed when I clicked "View the 10 most recent posts on the forum" here...it shows several pages.

Can it be done on my SMF 1.0.8 ?

Is there any reason to not update? I don't recall 1.0.8 but in the current version you can change the most recent posts on the index via the current theme management section and there is no 10 most recent posts option in the default theme any more. Instead you have recent posts which looks like this.

SMF vs. Godzilla? Who do you think will win?

SleePy

It could be done but Upgrading to latest version would provide you with the most options with more recent pages included.

Whats new with 1.1?
Upgrade SMF

Thanks KGIII.

I am not confident enough to upgrade my forum. I know I have to.
I installed SMF thru Fantastico only. I'm afraid I may mess it up.

Also, I will add, that upgrading isn't difficult. In addition to that addition I will also mention that it is MY OPINION that people who use some sort of software are better off learning a bit about the how so that they are able to detect problems (such as security issues) or repair some basic problems when they crop up. I can understand that people are busy, not interested, can't, and the likes but I really encourage people to poke at the code, learn about it, and to spend some time working on it.

The most you can really do is break something and, well, so long as you backed up and didn't wreck the database you are generally all set. :)
