i have just heard from someone that "meo" the Author of MKportal will no more release his updates for SMF ? Is that true ?

No it is not true. Now MKP is working very stable with SMF 1.1RC2 and SMF 1.0.7 . There are lots of MKP staff who are using SMF with MKP. Once before meo want to write a MKP version which has a its own forum but then he gave up it.

The best part of MKPortal is it gives you a very flexible directory structure for a website. like this ,

www.your-domain.com/mkportal

www.your-domain.com/smf

www.your-domain.com/index.php  [ In root directory you have only one file !!! what a clean & cool code ]

Do you know any other portal system which works with SMF with the above directory structure ?

Hmmm i am not sure there are portal scripts like this. You can integrate it with Joomla but directory can not be like this i think.

im also mkportal fan, awsome portal i tested all cms and i dono i stick to mkportal because of simplicity and lots of features and there guys make mods like crazy, they write 2+2 and it comes out board news on  frontpage, now imagen if they do 10000+ 1000 hehehe

i love it and if you need any help just ask i try  many things, also you can check my mkportal with smf sites in signature.
