Time for my inexperience with MySQL to be shown :P

I need to store a url in a table, but urls being the things they are, could be very long, or very short. I don't want to use a varchar column, even with a very long length, because it might not be long enough. What should I use instead?

The only thing bigger that is easy to mess with would be the text type (which I believe, is internally the BLOB type).
