This is not a complaint - but a question:

Every time I install a package (mod), when I click the "Install Now" button to actually install a mod, it takes literally something like 3-4 minutes or so. Every single mod.

Is this normal?

I searched the forum for various keywords like "installing mod slow", and I didn't find anything...

My server, btw, is not under heavy load... well under load 1, usually around .25 or so...

Thanks for any ideas you folks might have! :-)

this is a long shot but,,

think its a temp internet prob ur having? i mean , it could just be that some "node"  or "router"
somewhere on ur line in between ur home to the webhost is just having trouble or "noise" causing u to go slow ?
this seems to be a very common prob for me and is very hard to isolate unless u do a tracert in dos cmd.

What web host are you using?
This is definately not normal. Even on my testing PC (A Pentium III 650MHz), mods install in a few seconds.
Daniel15, former Customisation team member, resigned due to lack of time. I still love everyone here :D.

Sorry for the long delay in replying - as it happened, I had troubles with some mods and had to do a lot of work recovering... d'oh!

It might have been one of the mods, because after uploading a clean set of forum files (and cleaning up the mess THAT caused... heh), it's now fast again.

As for my web host - I have a dedicated server... what was weird was a second forum, also on my server, wasn't slow.

So... who knows?

Sorry to bump the topic, but I figured even a moderately useless update is better than a completely abandoned topic...
