Help with converting PHPBB

I've had enough of PHPBB and am trying to convert to SMF.

I've uploaded the converter and everything, but am having issues with running it. I have SMF installed on a different database than PHPBB, is this the reason? How do I give SMF access to my PHPBB database?

Here is the error message I am getting from the installer:

Sorry, the database connection information used in the specified installation of SMF cannot access the installation of phpBB2. This may either mean that the installation doesn't exist, or that the MySQL account used does not have permissions to access it.

The error MySQL gave was: SELECT command denied to user 'cjbates_smf1'@'localhost' for table 'phpbb_users'

Any help would be appreciated. I would love to get this sorted ASAP.
