I am trying to install the mod so members can post a you tube vid in there post.
I am using 1.1.4 modified theme, i have tried using the 1.1 ytube and cannot get it to work, so here is the deal i want to remove it and make all files writable so i can install 1.2 this is the message i get when i try to remove the mod.
What do i do????.

you must have other mods which have altered the code yourself.
You may need to manually uninstall/remove edit the mods parts.

Download that mod from the packages folder to your pc, then open the install.xml file inside.
Those are all the edits have been made, so basically what you need to do is undo all the edits which have been made.

If you feel uncomfortable doing that yourself, you could ask in the Help Wanted forum with a [paid] or [free] request for someone to do it for you.

Just tried deleting the youtube mod again... now i am getting this message.

You cannot download or install new packages because the Packages directory or one of the files in it are not writable!

Come someone tell me why i cant get the youtube mod to work

log into through FTP and change the permissions of the packages folder is 777 and make sure there is a temp folder in there.

What other mods do you have installed?

It's not a chmod issue.. You might want to try reuploading those files in FTP if no other mods are installed or remove the coding from previous mods.

right click on the folders/files and click file attributes. i have had this same issue and it was a chmod problem and the mods would uninstall the temp folder was not there.
