new to SMF and needs help....

 hi guys! i'm new to SMF and Joomla.

i installed joomla after which i installed SMF. but SMF was not installed through Joomla's install component thing, i installed SMF through its webinstall.

i use the same database which joomla is using. my question is, how can i link SMF in joomla? (let's say i got a forum button on my site try to link the SMF thing)

i already searched for this for awhile but didnt got an answer, im overwhelmed with the 'hooks', 'integration' and 'bridging' stuff.... to think i dont have any idea of those things 

your help is highly appreciated. thanks in advance.

The official Joomla bridge was discontinued a few months ago - see http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=184559.0 for more information.

There is another bridge available from joomlahacks.com, but I don't recommend it (we are unable to provide support for that bridge). Your best option would be to switch to Mambo instead.
