SMF Version: SMF 1.1.1
this announcement is in the Package Manager \ Browse Packages tab

"A number of bugs and a couple of low risk security issues have been identified in SMF 1.1.1 - and some improvements have been made to the visual verification images on registration. You can install this patch (click here to install) to update your version of SMF to 1.1.2."

when I attempt to click to install I get the following message:

Error in Package Installation
At least one error was encountered during a test installation of this package. It is strongly recommended that you do not continue with installation unless you know what you are doing, and have made a backup very recently. This error may be caused by a conflict between the package you're trying to install and another package you have already installed, an error in the package, a package which requires another package that you don't have installed yet, or a package designed for another version of SMF.

the following lines have errors:

9.     Execute Modification     ./Sources/ManageRegistration.php     Test failed
15.     Execute Modification     ./Sources/Register.php     Test failed
20.     Execute Modification     ./Sources/Subs-Graphics.php     Test failed
28.     Execute Modification     ./Themes/default/Register.template.php     Test failed

this is a very popular board & it really can't be down for any length of time. however I would like to update it to 1.14.

any help would be very appreciated.

can I just replace the problematic files with fresh ones from teh download archives?

JayBachatero

What mods do you have installed?  If you have mods installed that have modified those files then you will overwrite the changes that the mods made and result in more errors.

all I have installed is the captcha mod that worked for 1.1.1.

JayBachatero

That mod modifies those files.  Uninstall the mod and try to upgrade.
