I have been trying to copy and paste an email into the body of a message on my board.  The email is approx. 1 1/2 pages long but when copy and paste only the frist 3 lines will save in the message.  I have been searching the settings in SMF and also on this board for answers on where/if there is a setting to allow large text in messages without success.

Does anyone know of a way or setting to change to allow large text?  Any help would be great.

Thanks in advance.

Are you able to post more than 3 lines of text in other posts? Or just when you copy and paste from this e-mail?  Also can you try typing the first 4 lines in manually?

Or can you post the first 3-5 lines of the e-mail here?

I am able to post more then 3 lines of text in regular posts, just not when copy and pasting.  I can type if I want, but that would take too long.

Here are a couple lines from the email to see if it will paste here.  We enjoy reading Nancy and Ashley's blog.  We got such a big kick out of the snowman the Chatwin kids made for their front lawn.  It really made us laugh.  We were also happy to see the picture of you all ( except Brent & Nancy & Peter & Nancy) all together, it made us really homesick.

well that worked so I guess I will go and mess around more with it and see what happens.

Well after more testing no matter what I paste it only shows the first 2 lines.  But I just tested by typing and it will post all of it.  This doesnt make much sense.

Ok I have tested several other emails that I have received but its only with email from my parents.  So maybe they are using some wierd format to type it.  I will not worry about it.  Thanks again for the help and if you think of something, please let me know.

Try copy and paste from your e-mail to Notepad.exe.  This should then place it as pure plain text format, and then copy from that too your post.  I think there might be 'hidden' HTML elements in your e-mail body that might be causing your issues.

Well I have tried notpad, wordpad, and word all with the same result.  This is frustrating.  I just noticed that certain characters are where the text stops.  The first one is - then the second was a '.  All these are normal characters so I have no idea why when I taken them out and recopy and paste it goes until another character stops the text again.

99% of the emails I have tested today have worked great.  Only the ones from my parents in Australia (not that, that should have anything to do with it).

Yeah that is a strange one.   As it seem not be an actual issue with SMF, I'll mark this solved.  Let us know if you find a definitive answer
