Hi,

Does the convertor transfer over attachments from YaBB Gold SP 1.1 to the latest version of SMF?

If not, is there a round-about way to achieve that?

Thanks.

It does?  I don't believe the current (direct) converter does.  The YaBB se one did, and I plan to add this functionality to the SMF one when I have a chance.

I thought it did, because it empties out the attachments table and everything when it's converting messages, but I guess I was wrong...

Probably a really dumb question but......

I currently have 1 Gold - SP 1.3.2 upgraded to SP 4. I have simplemachines running on the same server.
Are there any "converting for dummies" instructions?

1. where do I put the convertor? in yabb or in simplemachines

Does this help?

The converter should still work with SP 1.4, but it won't work with SP 2.

Hi Thanks for that.

I'm getting warning errors...

Warning: open_basedir restriction in effect. File is in wrong directory in ..................httpdocs/smf/yabb_to_smf.php on line 131
The file is where it says it should be

and is telling me that "Operation not permitted in...." in the converting section.

It also says at the bottom of the converting script that

"Also note that the MySQL user you installed SMF with will need access to both the SMF database and the Helensburgh Online database, unless they are in the same database. Either way, both have to be installed on the same MySQL server..."

my yabb is cgi not sql so maybe I have misunderstood the converting script or I have missed a step. Should I upgrade to Yabbse for example?

Any tips?

Dear Unknown,

When do you foresee incorporating the attachment conversion into the Yabb to SMF convertor?

Thanks.

[Unknown]

I'm still working on getting the time to do it.  Having a test forum with attachments and the attachments mod installed wouldn't hurt, though...

Hi [Unknown]

What access will you need for the test forum? FTP only? Telnet? Administrator privilege to create mysql database?

I will see what I can do.

Thanks.
