Admin login issue

First let me say that I have tried to search first, but after 10 minutes with this message: "Unable to access the search daemon" I am posting for help, so sorry if the answer is out there.

Ok, when I try to login to my admin panel, as we know it asks me for the password, when I enter the password and then hit login, the page seems to reload but I am not redirected in my admin panel.

When I try to click on the Admin tab, it simply go back to the admin login page. The only way I can see my admin panel is by deleting the SMF cookie, closing the browser and restart the browser again, then when I click the Admin tab I can go to the admin panel.

I asked another one in which I gave him adminl control, and he can go in smoothly first try.
The thing is, since I have this problem, other regulars have problems to, some members, when tries to go to the forum, the browser downloads a "index.php" page and nothing else happens?

Thanks in advance for any help!

That happens a lot to be honest. It's got nothing to do with the forum to my knowledge. For the admin login, you need to type your password in each time, sometimes it doesn't work if you don't type it, I don't know why :)

If you constantly get that index.php download, it could be a problem with the host...

For the login issue, give this a try:

Go to Admin->Server Settings->Feature Configuration and see if you have the following options set:

Enable local storage of cookies -> Unchecked
Use subdomain independent cookies -> Checked
Use database driven sessions -> Checked

I get it on this forum too ;)
and all over the web, for forums of all sorts.

Ok everyone, sorry for the mistake, for the admin login issue, it was not SMF at all, it was FireFox.

Last week I updated Firefox, I never used the "Update & Install Now" feature from Firefox, but last week I did for the first time in my life. So when I reinstalled Firefox to try to solve this admin login issue, I still had the problem, but then I was thinking that maybe my profile was corrupted, so I kept the Bookmarks and Searchplugins folder, and reinstalled FireFox again. This time I let FireFox create a new profile, well, it worked, I no longer have the admin login issue, I guess ill never update that way again, my old way of remove and reinstall was just fine, shortcuts don't pay off. LOL

Now the only problem left is that particular user that ends up downloading an "index.php" when he try to reach my forum, but like greyknight17 said, it might be on my server side, so for that ill check with my VPS settings and stuff.

Thanks for all the input!
