Hello, I'm trying to bridge and integrate the SMF version 1.1.4 with the bridge to igaming cms version 1.5.

I can get it all installed and running but I'm having problems with the integration of the users from SMF to create content in the CMS.

I specify a member group from SMF, say Editors, but it will not let one log in.

Say I create a user named test and have him in the membergroup Editors if I go to the admin page of igaming to log in it will not let me.

I guess what the problem is, is that it is not importing the membergroup information that I need. I can access the igaming as admin but I'm trying to set this up for a client who wants a group to be able to create content in it.

Any ideas? or should they be going to a different url? (ie other than /admin )

edited to add the module is showing the url is: /home/bahama/public_html/forumEditor
SMF is installed in the forum folder so should it be forum/Editor? Either way no such file exists.

Thanks in advance!

Are you making the bridge yourself? If so read the ssi docs, and give smf_api a tr, it is in downloads > tools. I know how you feel because I'm having a bit of trouble integrating some software. also maybe try reading ssi faqs.
Always looking to take on a web design/ programming job :], PM me if interested.

I will read the ssi faqs to see if that will help but I am using the bridge from the smf site.

Everything appears to work fine but that. I can login as admin and create articles and stuff, I made the link to the forum as the bridge instructions said and it works with the header from igaming over the smf forum and stuff. The users just aren't showing up. I assume I can create the users manually manually if I have to for the CMS but it would just be easier if I could import them as it says it's capable of.

Thanks also for the fast reply!

I'm off to bed, I have to get up in a few hours but I will check back before work.

Thanks again!

Is anyone using the igaming bridge?

or igaming CMS?

When I try to configure the module it says that I will be redirected to the next page but that never happens and when I click on the module the only option is to configure it. Is the module from the bridging software supposed to create a file somewhere?

I added a require to the global.php in the igaming dir and then pointed it to the smf directory with ssi.php in it and still no go.

If noone can figure this out, can you at least tell me what the module is supposed to do so that I can see if it actually is working or not?

Any help is appreciate and needed!

I unchecked compression and still no go. I read to do that on the sticky about hooks and bridging above.

Anyone? Bueller?

The url is www.gamershub.org [nofollow]

One other issue I just found is if a user tries to register and entered through the CMS they cannot see the Captha image thing, but if you go straight into the forums, it's not a problem. www.gamershub.org/smf.php [nofollow] vs. www.gamershub.org/forums [nofollow]

I'm assuming it's because it's using the smf.php and the redirect to the actual forum?

Either way it doesn't work so if anyone knows a fix or if I can just remove, both would work. I rather have it there though if possible.

Thanks in advance!

The text for the admin group in the bridge config and the name of that group in SMF must match exactly.

Also, users in that group may need to logout and back in again if they already existed before the bridge was installed before they will be inserted into the iGaming database.

bahamallama

Hi,
First off, I disabled the captcha, so users can register. I commented out the code blocks for it so I can re-enable it when I figure out exactly what's wrong there.

I made sure the group names were the same and tried it with several different ones and even cut and pasted the name to make sure. I also have installed this on another server previously as a test for this one and it didn't work there either.

I will try logging out and shutting down the browsers completely and then try again to make sure!

It still is not working. I even made a test account to try and see if it would work but no go.

When I configure the module in iGaming when I am finished (after I enter the group and path) what should it do? It says it's redirecting or reloading but never does. When I manually click on Forum and manage the changes are there. I'm wondering if they are not propagating all the way through? I am using the same database for both.

Thanks!

Let's focus on the iGaming admin login issue.

I have registered on your site.

Can you change my group in SMF to what you think it should be for iGaming admin?

bahamallama

I added you to the Editor group which is supposed to have access to the CMS.

I will send you a username and password for the CMS to the email address you registered with at that site, so that you can see if I set that right as well.

He is using simplehost for hosting and they use the cpanel admin panel.

Thanks!

The account you gave me for the CMS can access quite a few things, but nothing user-related.

Does your SMF database user have access to your iGaming database?

bahamallama

They are in the exact same database. It thought this would be easier to integrate. Should it be 2 separate DB's?

Don

Orstio

No.  One database is fine.

Is there anything in the forum error log?

bahamallama

Here is the only error on the log:
8: Undefined index: online
File: /usr/home/gamers/public_html/forums/Themes/phobos/Display.template.php (main sub template - eval?)
Line: 260

I don't think that should affect this though should it?

Also I believe I gave you admin power so you can check it as well in case I missed something. I don't mind, especially if you find something!

Don

Orstio

No, that error won't affect anything.

What I need is more access to iGaming if you can.

bahamallama

I've given ye all I can captain!!!

I can give you access to the cpanel admin of the site if you wish, that's pretty much all that's left!

Don

Orstio

Thanks.

I looked at the values, and through the code, and you'll need to use the group id number instead of the group name in the bridge config panel.

I'll need to add the code for the names in a future release.

Your group "Editor" is group number 10, so I changed the value in the bridge config from "Editor" to 10, and when I logged in, everything worked fine.

bahamallama

Great!!!! I will pass word on to the owner of the site!!!!

I appreciate all of your time and effort and I'm sure he does as well!!!
