If I check the 'Site Maintenance' box and click save in the Edit Server Settings, I get a pop up asking me which username I want to change the password for?

The site maintenance still works if I select a user (I choose a non-important username from the list just in case)

Just upgraded to SMF 1.0 and this still happens on my board.
This is a test board so no problem but though I should make you aware.

Site Maintenance?  I'm not sure what you're talking about; and it shouldn't ask you for a username, either.... have a screenshot?

Here goes....  (Using firefox)
for the record, I tried it using Internet Explorer and the pop up box doesnt appear so it must be a FireFox issue.

Oh!  That I can explain... and you meant "maintenance mode", of course... stupid me :-[.

That's a Firefox/password manager dialog.  You see, the password (so it's filled with stars) is by default "***fakepassword***" or similar.  So, when you save it, your password manager thinks you're changing the password.

It's nothing to worry about, except if you want to actually have it remember your correct password, in which case you should probably disallow it.
