I need some advice on sending out a newsletter. Before I used the one built in SMF and for some reason a lot of members never received which was a good thing since it forced us to explore other options. Having just recently purchased an iMac, I did our most recent newsletter using Pages and it looks awesome. Obviously, I plan on converting to PDF but what would my best option be for distribution?

Do I?
Pull all the emails and send out as an attachment and run the risk of having someone's
email that doesn't accept attachments cut of the list before it can reach everyone?

Upload my file to my download section and send a Global Announcement via email that the file can be downloaded at this specific location? The file is 6.1mb- will 500 people downloading this file affect my bandwidth? And even if not- Are people willing to take the extra step to visit the site to download the newsletter, when many of them don't frequent the site as often? One of my reasons for the newsletter was to keep in contact w/those members to remind them we are around.

Or-
Send the attachment out- then follow up with using the email system to let them know its out there, Or do I run the risk of being annoying to these members?

What if anything does anyone else use? The girls that put this together really do a nice job but in the past we had issues w/ them having certain fonts and using Publisher then either trial Acrobat and/or some third party PDF maker, there was always some conflict or format issue. Using Pages and Mac's built in PDF Maker- the newsletter finally comes out beautiful like these girls intended- so I am very eager to show this off to our membership.

Thank in advance for any advice or feedback.

With my host I can't send out more than 100 emails with in an hour. Of course I have more than 100 members so I started sending out news letters via PM so those that got it get it via email from the PM system and those that just check in get a nofication in their PM box.

With the new feature in SMF 2.0 that might be a thing in the past, but thats what I currently do.
