Begginner Installing

I am trying to create a new forum but there is too much to know it seems. I have been reading for 3-4 hours but still it seems confusing.

Couple of questions:

1) You have to transfer to a server.

   Which is the best free server? Should I use a paid server? What's the difference?

2) What is the difference between a server on my computer and using another server?

3) Also I have a wordpress blog. How do I link it with the blog. Can i use wordopress as a server?

It's not very difficult. You will need some basic knowledge, infact with some hosts installing SMF is just as simple as a few mouse clicks with Fantastico.

Not saying Fantasico is perfect because it's not but for new users who have issues setting up PHP apps then its ideal.

Try reading the online manual for more information.

So I regsiered for a free host with hxxp:awardspace.com [nonactive]. I also got Filezilla for FTP.

SO when I start Filezilla it asks for three things: Server Address, Port, & administrative password.

What is my server adress? What is the port?

Port is usually 21, For the rest of the info you need to ask your host.

Physique you might want to check out http://www.smfforfree.com as it seems you very limited in internet knowledge and they should be able to give you a forum already setup and easy for you to customize.
