I loved the idea for the mod... and its not true that its by design illegal ...

There are several cases where this can be a fantastic mod, such as on a mash up website (mash ups are gray zone, kinda allowed), music production site, or as I have myself, a DJ website...

I would love to see this mod happen, where our djs can upload their mixes and get votes ... etc...

Personally I've been wanting to code a system where our djs can upload their mixes each month, and users can vote over "the mix of the month".

Also our djs would love this upload thing, and incorporate it at their profile pages..

please pick up this mod again if you can/want... I'd love to help in any way I can... (and hopefully sinan too, that already has a song request mod, so might have interest)

Try the SMF Media Gallery mod. You can upload music files there. It has both rating and comment features within.
