how can i reset my whole forum w/o deleting the users, posts, threads,etc?

What exactly do you mean by resetting?

If you mean removing all mods/themes/custom edits. Then you can replace the files in your SMF directory with clean files from an uninstalled versions of SMF.

Be sure to keep settings.php and the attachment folder. Then upload clean files from an install version of SMF except for install.php
