Hello,

I am trying to add a SMF forum to an existing site, but without using a bridge or any other script because i don't need user and/or permission integration and i don't want to complicate things without reason.

Actually, i need to add on the top of the SMF default template, the banner and menu of my existing site (running Joomla). Where and what should i modify in order to accomplish that?

Thank you.

Kays

Hi, if you already have the code for the banner and menu. The file to add to to is index.template.php of the theme you are using.

Which version SMF?

If at first you don't succeed, use a bigger hammer. If that fails, read the manual.

And wee you able to find where to add the code for your header?

I'm using the default theme, so i guess i'll have to deal with /Themes/core/index.template.php :)
Meanwhile, i had some trouble finding the piece of code from Joomla's template (header and menu...)

I'll mark the topic as solved (from SMF's point of view), but if anyone can give me a clue regarding the Joomla's menu (where could i found the header and menu sections of a template...), is welcome to post it here.
Anyway, when i'll succeed, i'll post here the result.

Thanks Kays.

Hello, I'm sorry if this is a very stupid question, but you'd be amazed how little I know about this stuff. I'm sure designing a new template is way beyond me, but if I can just change the color of the smf default theme, it will go a long way toward visually integrating with my site.

1. Is it possible just to find the color codes for headers and backgrounds and change those?
2. If so, which file to I open to change the hexadecimal color codes for these elements?

Thanks for your help!

This really should be posted in Graphics and Templates as it has nothing to do with this topic.

It also would depend on your version SMF.
