Alter queries in Sources/BoardIndex.php and Sources/MessageIndex.php. Add the icons in Themes/<theme-name>/BoardIndex.template.php and Themes/<theme-name>/MessageIndex.template.php.

Just try to find the code surrounding the point to change, and you'll find it?
