Our forums have been hacked just 3 days after the update became available.

I have removed all the files that were obviously not SMF in the webroot, and replaced all the directories with 1.1.7 files and have tried over and over to do the upgrade.php and no go.

Replaced them all files and folders and uploaded the settings.php fresh three times and still no go.

QuoteThe upgrader found some old or outdated language files.

Please make certain you uploaded the new versions of all the files included in the package, even the theme and language files for the default theme.

I have replaced ALL files at least three times including the default theme directory and files.

I see a lot of people are having trouble with this particular problem.

I have also run the repair_settings.php as well to no avail.

If you try to load the site it says "Unable to load Themes/default/index.template.php!"

The default theme folder and files are 775.

I don't want to have to replace the database with an older one that's a month old just to find it does the same thing.

Any help would be appreciated.

I have found the answer. The default theme was 775 but the Themes folder in general was not.

That has been corrected and now the forums are upgraded. :)

Hope that information helps someone else who has troubles with this permissions problem.
