When they click the Admin button they have access to Members-Member Groups , they can change the member groups and they have access to Support Information.

So what do you think would be causing this?

Oldiesmann

Check the permissions for that group. It sounds like they have the "Moderate Forum" permission.

Did you try the suggestion above to see if it solves the problem?

Ya they only have 19 permissions and they do not include moderating or administrating the forum,

Still not fixed is there anybody out there that can figure this out?

Antechinus

It will have to be an incorrect permissions problem. The only way to sort it is to go through all your mermber/membergroup permissions until you find what you did wrong. It's really a hands on sort of thing.

I have have had another member have look though the member group permissions , but still no luck.

I logged in on that test account and I can't see the admin tab, so it obviously isn't accessible to whatever group that account is in.

ETA: Just tried action=admin and it blocks access just like it should.

Once a member posts one post they get changed to sport or regular member, then the admin panel shows.

Ok, I see the problem. You have checked a permission somewhere for that membergroup. Can't be anything else. Either you keep looking or you let someone else have a look. Up to you.

I'll go through your permissions if you want to pm me temporary admin but whatever you do don't post admin account details publicly. That's asking for trouble.

Antechinus

Ok, I had a look but I didn't touch anything. You've got a strange one there because the membergroup that is causing the problem should be showing on the "Permissions by membergroup" page and it isn't.

That's definitely rather odd and I don't know what's causing it. What I advise you to do for now is to change the password on that account you sent me to something with better security, and wait for one of the official support staff to have a look.
