Ok, been trying to figure this out, but cant. Here is the situation. My main boards show my address with my IP
http://66.7.207.100/~bcjeepcl/index.php?action=forum#1
I figure this is because I set up the boards before I got my domain transfered. Now you can still get to the boards thorugh the domain, however as soon as you enter them it changes to the IP address.

No since then, I have set up some test boards, to do all my testing of mods and stuff on, and the domain works fine on the whole boards.

So whats the deal, and how can I fix the main boards to show the proper domain address?

I would contact my hosting company and have the tech people go over the A record and DNS name server info with you to make sure everything is good to go. From what I understand the DNS should resolve the I.P. numbers so that they are not visible in the address bar (this is not really my area though).

I would also run down why this is present in the main url :

/~bcjeepcl I am speaking of the "~"

Just so you know I just entered this:

www.bcjeepclub.ca

Into my address bar and click go. Went right to the main site with no Server IP shown.
PM at your own risk, some I answer, if they are interesting, some I ignore.

Actually, you can just log into your admin, go to your server settings and enter the domain name there.

With some hosting you can lol.... Mine is like preforming brain surgery in the dark...

Yup, it works on the main page, but go into the forums after that, then it reverts to the Ip address. Everything is set right on the host and where I got the IP from, checked it all. As I said, Any file on the site, or the test boards, I can access with the domain name, its only the boards I installed before the Ip change that doesnt show the domain name.....

Nevermind, I found a setting on the boards that was set to the IP addy, instead of the URL. I love these boards, very customizable and all, but to many damn settings, lol.

You should see some of the other software....

Glad you were able to find the solution. If you have any more issues, please don't hesitate to post a new topic.
