My SMF forum went offline... Maybe a MySQL mistake?

When I was editing the admin section of my forums, I went to the configuration and by mistake I deleted the password to the database, and then I was stupid enough to click the "save" button. Once I clicked it, I got this message:

"Connection Problems
Sorry, SMF was unable to connect to the database. This may be caused by the server being busy. Please try again later."

I know it is due to me deleting the password option in the adminCP to the database, but how do I get it back if I can't access my forum at all?

See if for yourself: http://www.cities-etc.com/forums/ [nofollow] :o

The weird thing is, my images from the forum URL display (example [nofollow]), but not the forums...

I am in the same boat as LarsAric.  I downloaded the repair_settings.php and ran it...
in the repairs tool, I get this message at the top of the page:
"Some settings are not being shown because the MySQL connection information is incorrect."

All of the settings (password, urls, etc.) that are listed in the repairs settings page are correct which leads me to believe that the problem with connecting to the database is in the errors that won't show up....

Now what??  How do I correct these???  I have been through my server and checked the status and settings of mySql and everything is correct that I can see.

I have received an email from my server that states: "There has been a problem with the database!   This is a notice email to let you know that SMF could not connect to the database, contact your host if this continues."

I contacted my server host today but the tech wasn't able to figure out the discrepancy and passed it on to another administrator.  I am waiting to hear from them as to their suggestions.

Can anyone help me with this problem???

Try
double-check the settings in Settings.php
(i know repair_settings.php checked them, but just double-check, triple-check)

Try repairing tables in phpmyadmin

I had done both of what you said to do.... when I would go to run the settings.php, I got a blank internet page. I ran the repair twice in phpmyadmin and both times it came back saying everything was repaired and yet it still wouldn't open up my forum without giving me that error.

I just received an email though from my host server.... they have fixed the problem... this is what they said was wrong:  "The reason this issue was occurring is because the information on your Settings.php file did not match the database username and password."  My forum is now up and running again!!

Thanks for your help!!

@truei1 - Glad you got things working.  The repair_settings.php file should have corrected that problem for you.

@LarsAric - is this issue solved?  If not please post an update.
