Hey i have been trying to solve this problem and have googled and tried numerous things and none have worked... they either break the news.php completely or it just stops rss working all together...

Basically i use a mIRC script to announce the rss feeds in my irc channel and it almost works... just when i use the &title tag on the mIRC script this happens.....

[15:12] (%RuneServ): Rune-Mania <![CDATA[TESTING - IGNORE THIS PLEASE :D]]> http://****-*****.org/forum/index.php?topic=396.0

as you can see the bot on my irc channel announces the feed blah blah but its got that annoying <!CDATA thing before the title....

is there any way to fix this? or modify it so this doesnt happen?

thanks for looking

You need to talk to whoever wrote that mIRC script. The CDATA tags are used to prevent characters in the subject from screwing up the feed.
