I've been looking around the site to find some info about this upgrade but can not seem to find it. How different are the two versions. Is it possible to upload file by file, which files?

I did a testrun on a testforum that went straight down the drain and I don't feel confident enough to do this upgrade of a site if I can not find the proper "upgrade for dummies" info instead of the "i know everything about databases and php-manual" that seems to be the general one out there :(

Got inputs from another direction. But why the heck does it now say

QuoteFatal error: Call to undefined function rebuildmodcache() in /hsphere/local/home/xx/yy.com/smf/Sources/Security.php on line 533

I will have to assume you are upgrading from 1.1.9 to 2.0RC1-1.  Did you get this error in the upgrade process?  Is this the complete error?  Was there a specific step that was reported as failing?

Sorry, should have responded to this a long time ago. Yapp I was upgrading big time. I received several errors along the way of different sort but..

They solved themselves along the way when I stepped back one step and uploaded the new files one by one via my ftp.

It seems to me some of the files weren't overwritten like they should have been and that caused some errors during the upgrade and continued when trying out the new forum.

I believe all the source-files have been uploaded and replaced (found one PM-bug this eveneing) and my forum works - knock on wood - better than ever. I can even use the package manager to install things, even though it's "just" the simple portal and the ad manager mod that is a relief.

Glad you got it working :)

I'll just mark this solved, but if you require further assistance on this, feel free to post back and mark the topic not solved.
