hi there i am using v2.0rc1-1 and i am looking for an quick theme chooser option for my forum i tried available the available theme chooser but there are not working for me even after manual editing so can someone help me to on this

Antechinus

If you want extra pages and a few other things you could try installing a portal. They all come with theme changers and shoutboxes.
If you don't want to run a portal coding a theme changer isn't hard if you just want text links or whatever in the footer

neteater

no i dont want an portal i am happy with my index page

Antechinus

Easiest way to do one is to just use text links across the footer of your themes. Something like:

echo ' <a href="', $scripturl, '?theme=4">Theme name goes here</a>

Change the theme names and numbers to suit. Repeat as necessary.

does it shows a drop down menu after adding this code

Antechinus

No. Of course not. It shows a text link like I said. This is the simplest way of coding one if you can't get the others to work.

neteater

nice idae but still looking for a sophisticated mod

Antechinus

Well use one of the existing ones, which means you'll need to figure out how to install it, whcih really shouldn't be any harder than doing a line of links.

Antechinus

Of course the other way you can do it is with submit buttons and hover effects, which can look quite flash because you can style it to match each theme as you change them. That's a little trickier though. ;)

neteater

i tried to manualy edit the existing one but after editing i am geting db error

Arantor

What error are you getting? And what exactly did you edit?
Holder of controversial views, all of which my own.

I'm going through old 'unresolved' topics, do you require any further support?
If they are none, please mark this topic as solved to indicate :)
