When trying to update another members profile as an Admin, I get the following error notice:

The following errors occurred when trying to save your profile:
The email field was left blank.
You have not entered a valid email address.
Another user is already registered with that email address.
The new passwords you entered do not match.
Your password must be at least 8 characters long..

I know an admin shouldn't have to fill out those fields, those are there for a member changing their own information.  Any info on this would be much appreciated.

Any idea on why it thinks the admin is owner of the profile when editing another members profile?  I also notice when editing your own profile you have to re-enter an email address (field is blank) and passwords.

When did you start noticing this? Was anything changed recently (mod install, forum upgrade, etc.)? Is there anything in your forum error log?

Please answer the questions. So what mods were installed and anything in your forum error log?

RCC_SaMiaM

No error messages, the Articles mod, Media Gallery and here are all packages installed:

1.     SMF 1.0.14 / 1.1.6 Update  1.0
2.    Site Integration Mod 1.41
3.    SMF Media Gallery 1.0.2
4.    Googlebot & Spiders Mod 2.04
5.    SMF Articles 1.0.1.3

I have no idea when this happened (or after what mod).

Try removing all those mods one at a time, testing the profile update after each one to see if it works. You can leave the SMF update install alone...

I'm experiencing the same problem... Rolled back all mods I could, tried default theme, no luck.

I need help with this!

I migrated a forum from one domain to another domain. However I'm pretty sure this problem was not present after the ugprade. I then installed SimplePortal and Pretty URL's. Then when I went to update someone's membergroup I discovered I had to enter a password to do so, but when I did that, the user no longer had access to their login :( I uninstalled Pretty URL's and SimplePortal but that didn't seem to change anything. I also tried the default theme, but again, that didn't help at all.

Here's my current list of MOD's:
1.   Inline Attachments    1.0.4.2
2.   SimplePortal    2.2.2
3.   Wrap Text Around Image    1.0
4.   Stop Forum Spam    0.4
6.   Member posts recount    0.5
7.   Member posts recount    0.5
11.   Auto Embed Video Clips    1.9
12.   Pretty URLs    1.0RC

Any ideas where I'm going wrong?

Here's the actual error message that shows uP:
QuoteThe following errors occurred when trying to save your profile:

If I enter my own password, it works ... but resets the users password to my own password.

One other thing I did recently was to install TinyPortal. But I uninstalled that before using SimplePortal.

The URL is ... http://slapshot.net.nz/

Which browser are you using? This may be a browser bug with respect to autocomplete.

Ah, interesting. I assumed that would be controlled via PHP but I guess not. I'm using Google Chrome. I'll go check and let you know the results.

Thanks :)

Truly weird. In Chrome I think my own password is being entered into the "password" field for all of the users, whereas when I used Firefox it was left blank.

Thanks for pointing out that it is a browser problem :) Come to think of it, I've had a few other odd-ball problems in Chrome lately too including not being able to post and not being able to log in. Perhaps they're all connected problems.

At any rate, I'm happy to switch browsers when I need to change a profile, it's not something I do regularly anyway.

Thank You again :)
