Hi,
Is there any chance to run portal on subdomain if forum is also on subdomain?
portal.example.com
forum.example.com

I know if forum is on hxxp:example.com [nonactive] then I can run portal on subdomain, but what I can do if forum is on other subdomain?

I turned on in admin panel use cookies independent of subdomain. Cookie is .forum.example.com, but I need .example.com or is there any other option to run it?
I need it for log in on subdomain.

Regards,
mruz

if you already have picked out the portal mod you want to use you would be best to post in their support thread so they can help you.

I have own script and I would like integrate with login from forum.

You can do it. Turn on subdomain independent cookies in SMF admin panel

And they all believed their ancestors were simplistic and deluded. What are the odds that you are the first generation of humans who will understand reality?"

I turned on, but it works for subdomain of forum (like hxxp:porta.forum.example.com [nonactive]), because if I turn on this option cookie is: .forum.example.com, not .example.com, and don't work for hxxp:portal.example.com [nonactive]

SimplePortal is capable of moving itself away from the main SMF base.
That means, it has a mode so you can place the portal somewhere else.

Read that and you are good to go :)
