can i use the theme this forum uses?

how about if you change the buttons and the logo but the layout is still the same.

I don't know, but I'd guess it depends on whether it's a literal copy (in which case I still can't see it being allowed) or more of an 'inspired by' thing. Suggest you ask the management team about that.

ok, thanks. i just like my forum to have a banner/logo/ad image that spans the entire screen width...like the one above ....and also that message/welcome box above that spans about 90% of the screen width. i don't mind the sidebar menu though.

if that's the case, i'll wait for their reply then.

If you made it different liek to start with, just using similar colours and such and made it without the code of this one then it shouldnt be a problem aslong as you could tell if it was differentl, but consult someone a bit higher up.

You can't use this theme, but if you look at its html and learn from it (assuming you could, I'm no master of html and I made most of it) I don't think anyone would mind.

Note that I didn't say you could copy it right off or anything .  But the banner and stuff isn't difficult to do .  Just HTML.

oh, html is chicken. it's the embedded php that's a little bit harder to do but i'm working on it. however, thanks. that's just what i needed to know. 

my old proboard forum already has a black/grey/white theme so i wouldn't really call the look of my new one as inspired by this.
